Ralph,

I got pacbell DSL on Jan 2 this year, here is a couple of notes.

<start rant>

1. Pacbell does NOT give static IP's for single use customers.
2. Unless you have USB they will install an internal SpeedStream 3060
   modem.
3. Speedstream does not have LINUX support for this modem on their site.
4. The only way you can get a static IP is to order the enhanced dsl for
   $69.99

I found this out yesterday, when I called to get the windows software cd.
(they should have given it to me when they did the install.)

<end rant>

other than that I have been very happy with the speed of DSL.
+ 400Kps.

you can get the current version of sendmail at www.sendmail.org.
It is easy to setup for one domain. (I'm still having trouble with
multiple virtual domains.)
