None of those.. make oldconfig. It is used instead of these.
copy your 2.2.12 .config file into the new source tree then type make
oldconfig.
the .config file is read and all your previous values are used. You are
only prompted if 2.2.13 has a new config that needs input. SO if 2.2.13
is just some fixes with no new config opotions tghen the make oldconfig
will run wiothout interuptiona dn your read to do the amke clean make
dep make modules etc.
