To all,

a few thoughts:

1. partioning schemes

I use 3 partitions (you can do more or less, it's up to you.)

SWAP 127M
/home 1000M (my stuff)
/ all the rest. (can grow)

* note -- I put swap first

2. If you don't have a separate LINUX box and are afraid of Dual Booting,
get a UMSDOS version of Linux.
UMSDOS is a version of linux that runs in c:\linux on your Windows machine.

These are the ones I've tried.

Pygmy Linux http://pygmy.penguin.cz
Dragon Linux http://www.dragonlinux.nu
zipslack http://www.slackware.com/zipslack

Pygmy is cool and small (10M) but doesn't have vi or a compiler you can use
the slackware packages.
Dragon is cool but bigger (30M) and you can use all the slackware packages.
zipslack is console only (no X) but is full featured. Great for a internet
gateway or test web server.
