I've got 2 adaptec 2940UW cards and these are my 4th and 5th adaptec
controlers. I never had any problems with them (I always buy retail
version) with any OS (win95, winnt, Redhat Linux) and they ahve never
failed on me. Another Card to concider is the Initio 9100UW. A very
nice card that is supported by Linux.
