What are you trying to do? Your kid prints from Windows to a printer
connected to where? Your Linux box? Or is it a network printer?

Basically you have to get the printer set up so Linux can use it. It's not
as hard as they make it sound :). First thing is to determine where the
printer is - local or networked (just like windows). If the printer is
networked it's usually just a matter of setting up printtool to print to
it's IP address (or hostname) providing the printer supports LPR). If it's
local then you have to configure Linux -- Red Hat's print tool is usually
quite helpful for most setups.

(FWIW I have an Apple LaserWriter so I print through LPR through netatalk -
now that's ugly)
